New project: eScience Pathfinder

As a product of the eScientist award from late 2017, research engineers Laurens Bogaardt and Dafne van Kuppevelt have joined the CORPNET group. During 2018, they will work on questions related to corporate network analysis and visualization. In particular, they will focus on board interlock networks and ownership networks in the context of offshore finance. Welcome Laurens and Dafne!

ABOUT ME
I am an associate professor at LIACS, the computer science and AI department of Faculty of Science of Leiden University. My research interest is in network science, in parrticular methods and algorithms for knowledge discovery from (social) network data, with applications in economics, science studies and computational social science.

Currently, I am head of the Leiden Computational Network Science research group, academic co-director of the Dutch POPNET research platform for population-scale social network analysis and co-chair of the Dutch Network Science Society. I am director of education of the LIACS bachelor programmes Informatica (Computer Science) and Data Science & Artificial Intelligence. I teach courses on competitive programming and social network analysis.
