The Dutch Network Science Society is a society aimed at bringing together researchers in the Netherlands working on the topic of network science; the extraction of knowledge and insights from theoretical and empirical analysis of complex networks. As of its founding in 2018, I am a board member of this society. On May 7 in the afternoon at TU Delft, the official opening of this event will take place, including invited lectures, pitches and networking opportunities. For details, see below. You have until February 10, 2019 to submit an extended abstract for the International Conference on Computational Social Science, IC²S² 2019.

The line-up of keynotes has been announced, and it promises to be an exciting event with 11 renowned speakers as well as a panel discussion in light of 5 years IC²S², featuring 5 well-known computational social scientists.

The conference will be held at the University of Amsterdam from July 17 to 20, 2019. Check out the call for abstracts!
Submissions are non-archival and should be just 2 pages in length.

The Multidisciplinary International Symposium on Open Online Media (MISDOOM) aims to bring together researchers and practitioners from communication science, computer science, and economy, as well as journalists and online media professionals to discuss current topics, technical advances and societal challenges in the area of online media. bookmark_borderSocial Media Analytics RISE project to start in 2019

RISE_SMA forms an interdisciplinary, international network combining excellent scholars and practitioners to enable vigorous knowledge sharing and to develop solutions for contemporary challenges for Social Media Analytics (SMA). From Leiden, Michael Emmerich, Suzan Verberne and Frank Takes are involved. It is the result of a EU H2020 Marie Skłodowska-Curie Research and Innovation Staff Exchange Call (MSCA RISE) proposal. The kick-off meeting is in Duisburg on April 15-16, 2019 and the RISE_SMA project website provides more information.
